Dr. Carol Kirby, the much-loved and well-respected former headmistress of Elmwood School (1996-2003), appointed me as Elmwood Artist-in-Residence in 2003.

My portraits of Elmwood Art Club participants were painted from life. For two years (2003-2005), on Thursdays after school I instructed students in techniques and approaches to painting in acrylic. Following art school tradition, both students and staff who participated in the Art Club learned to paint from observation - from the model or a still life arrangement.
